Goal

Standards: ELA.K.F.1.1: Demonstrate knowledge of the basic concepts of print.
ELA.1.F.1.3: Use knowledge of grade-appropriate phonics and word-analysis skills to decode words accurately

The goal of this project is to have students learn and build letters of the alphabet and CVC and CVCe words using LEGO boards and LEGO bricks within the next four months.

What will be done with my students

This will be achieved by designing engaging activities that allow students to construct each letter visually and tactilely, thereby reinforcing their understanding of letter shapes and sounds.

Benefits to my students

By integrating LEGO bricks into literacy activities, we aim to provide a dynamic learning experience that caters to different learning styles. This approach will not only make learning to read more engaging but also help students develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness. Ultimately, this project will contribute to improved letter recognition and foundational reading skills in early learners.
