Goal

To provide Document Cameras to DMS Math teachers to more clearly demonstrate how to work out Math problems in multiple representations and collaboratively (aligning to our MTR.K12.1.1 and MTR.K12.2.1, by their classroom teacher-examples, as well as to project student-work examples to the class to promote peer instruction, engagement, and learning-teamwork. Whiteboards for the classroom wall will also be purchased as an additional way to demonstrate mathematical problem-solving by both student and teacher visual representations.

What will be done with my students

Students will enhance their learning of FAST Math6-8/Algebra1/Geometry BEST Benchmarks (ex. MA.912.AR.2.1—solving one-variable multistep equations in a real-world context; or MA.912.AR.1.2- Rearrange equations and formulas to isolate the quantity of interest; or MA.912.GR.3.4- Use coordinate geometry to solve real-world problems related to perimeter and area)

Benefits to my students

Provide deeper understanding and greater collaborative-learning engagement of Math6-8, Algebra1 and Geometry concepts, and specific benchmarks enhanced by visual display, to improve both the FAST Math and EOC learning levels and performance scores at DMS.
