Goal

Have the necessary maintenance materials needed for instruments to be in proper working condition at all times. A number of students use school instruments and cannot provide these materials themselves, so we must have it for them in order for them to have a proper working instrument.

Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

What will be done with my students

MU.912.S.3.5
Develop and demonstrate proper vocal or instrumental technique.
Students will be taught proper posture with instruments and proper music stand placement. This alone greatly effects how they will sound and ensures development of proper, healthy posture that will allow them to continue to perform for years after graduating. When stands do not maintain the proper position/height, the students cannot see their music or hold equipment in the correct position.

Benefits to my students

Students will have the materials necessary to have a proper working instrument at all times. Students have to do regular maintenance on their instruments to keep them in working condition. Students using school instruments need these materials provided to do this. This sets the students up for successful preparation and performances. This is especially necessary as our numbers (including a beginning band class) increase and we our providing more school instruments than in the past.
