Goal

My goal is to provide flexible seating options in my classroom to meet the needs of different learning abilities. students are significantly more engaged in learning when they have choices with regard to seating. Flexible seating can provide important sensory stimulation that helps improve posture and increase focus and attention.

What will be done with my students

Stdents will be able to chose a flexible seating option. I want students to be the most comfortable in their learning environment Emergent Literacy – motivation to read-IV..A.2.b Demonstrates increased ability to focus and sustain attention, set goals and solve dilemmas presented in conversation, stories or creative play.

Benefits to my students

Flexible seating will allow my students to have the sensory stimulation desired while completing educational tasks, it also gives students the freedom to choose how they learn, which can help them feel more engaged and empowered. 

 

Budget Narrative

Flexible seating options like bean bag chairs, wobble chairs, cube seats, and floor cushions allow these students to move in ways that help regulate their sensory input. This can lead to improved focus and attention by providing a controlled outlet for their sensory needs.
