Goal

To provide earphones to MS Reading teachers for students to be able to hear the audio of texts that they are reading for assignments, to promote reading fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, student participation, engagement, and learning.

What will be done with my students

Students will complete assignments in direct connection to improving reading skills and the learning of their ELA BEST Benchmarks.
ELA.612.R.2.1 – Structure: Explain how individual text sections and/or features convey a purpose in texts.
ELA.612.V.1.1 – Academic Vocabulary: Integrate academic vocabulary appropriate to grade level in speaking and writing.
ELA.612.F.2.4 – Fluency: Read grade-level texts with accuracy, automaticity, and appropriate prosody or expression.

Benefits to my students

Provide deeper understanding of Reading/ELA 6-8 concepts, and specific benchmarks, as it relates to reading and ELA skills for learning, as well as improve reading Lexile levels, FAST ELA learning levels and performance scores at DMS.
