Goal
I want to get books with accompanying CDs so students can have an immersive experience while learning to love to read.

What will be done with my students
ELA.1.R.2.2 Identify the topic of and relevant details in a text. Students can access a listening center, including a CD player and headphones to listen to books. Students will complete an exit ticket identifying the topic and relevant details of the story they listen to.
Benefits to my students
Instilling a love of reading comes in many forms. Many of my Title 1 students don't have access to books at home. Therefore, no one reads to them at home. Having a physical book as well as an accompanying CD will mimic them being read to. Students will also get more practice identifying the topic and relevant details of a story, which first graders struggle with.
