What will be done with my students

Standard: Civics and Government
Benchmark/Learning Target: SS.3.CG.1.2
Describe how citizens demonstrate civility, cooperation, volunteerism and other civic virtues.
This year, our 3rd graders have set a goal to create several initiatives aimed at making others feel valued.

These include:
• Blessing bags for the homeless
• Positive messages or encouraging notes wrapped around a rubber duck, which the students will leave in various locations around the community
• "Kindness boxes" for any student struggling with mental health issues
• Passing out affirmations to fellow students throughout the year
• Creating holiday cards for our senior citizens at the local nursing home
• Baking cookies and brownies for our local police and fire fighters.

Benefits to my students

By participating in this project, our students will not only develop essential skills such as teamwork and communication but will also learn the value of giving back. We believe that putting positive energy into our community benefits everyone, fostering a spirit of collaboration and care. We are committed to making a difference, and your support will play a crucial role in empowering our young leaders to create a lasting impact.
