Goal

To teach my students virtually, so I can implement or expand high-quality standard based programs outside school hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, so that I can offer student’s academic/educational enrichment in grades 5-12 that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students at WISE Center.

What will be done with my students

My students will be learning virtually for the remainder of the school year or in-home tutoring sessions with students with education needs. I will be teaching them virtually and this assistance will help me pay for things for my virtual classroom that are not, will not or have not been provided to me by the Walton County School District. Students with IEP accommodations will be tutored at home to meet their needs in order to become more successful. I also will support parents in their children's programs that promote both social and emotional learning and development. A literacy component will be added as part of the my academic and enrichment offerings tutoring program and will include small group instruction for low-achieving students using strategies consistent with Florida State Standards for English Language Arts and research-based literacy practices. These funds will be used to reimburse me for past purchases or pay for future purchases for my virtual classroom and home tutoring.

Benefits to my students

My students will have an improved virtual learning experience. Our student test scores have improved to 88% in reading and 85% in math. I will give and make materials and provide training to help parents work with their children to improve their children's achievement, such as literacy training and using technology, as appropriate, and to foster parental involvement in their child's virtual learning experience.
