Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
CHELCO - $1,000.00
Students will make models using a 3d printer. Students will use 3d imagining and CAD programs to solve real world problems.
There are many activities that will utilize a 3d printer to make learning more meaningful. Below are a few of the unlimited possibilities my students will have in the classroom. 3d technology.
1) Students will make 3d landform models for the use in the Earth Science classroom. These models will help students understand the power of weathering, erosion and deposition.
2) Students will make a lithophane. Students will make a picture design to help them understand opaque, translucent and transparent object.
3) Students will use TinkerCad to create and study animal adaptation models.
4) Students will 3d print the solar system to better understand sizes of planets and distances.
We will be 3d printing on a monthly basis.
1) Students will better understand how weathering and erosion around the globe created different geographical features.
2) Students will demonstrate their knowledge of light flowing through object.
3) Students will create their own adaptation models and explain how they change over time.
4) Students will create a scale model of the solar system.
There will be 180 students and 8 teachers that would benefit using 3d printers at school
We will need 2 printers so we can simultaneously print our models. We will also need different colored filament for multiple lessons throughout the year.
