Goal

Our goal is to provide a way out of poverty mind set for our students. We seek to teach them financial literacy, how to save, how to invest, how to live within their means, and budget what income they do have to live debt free and have a high quality of life.

What will be done with my students

We will teach our students about financial literacy, how to budget, how to save, how to start a small business project, how to take the earnings from that project, and how to reinvest the earnings drawn from it, and how to save part of the gains.

Benefits to my students

Students can see how to fuel an interest and utilize that interest to create a small hobby income. This will be done by the students voting on a project (growing micro-greens, creating digital art, etc) and then accepting donations for their end product (herbs and micro greens grown in a greenhouse). Students will see the money made, how much was invested, and what actual profit is. They will see how that the profit, or gains, can be taken and placed in a fundraising account to grow over time to be used in the school for their community growth projects of their choice (community mural, student garden, merit day, etc)

Budget Narrative

We will build the greenhouse together thru a kit using metal bars and tarp like material; we will install grow lights and heaters in winter months. We will utilize trays, soil (coco noir), and micro green seeds. Students will watch videos, read books, and learn all about the daily care for microgreens and how to harvest. Then greens will be harvested and passed to the community.
