My students were able to log into NearPod daily for lessons in my classroom. All students used this program to interactively work with my activboard.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To increase student engagement as well as opportunities for daily formative assessment using Nearpod interactive software.

What will be done with my students

Instead of just providing content to my students using PowerPoint Presentations, I would like to make my lessons completely interactive using Nearpod Interactive Software. Using this program, I can embed formative assessments, writing response questions and other interactive tools into my notes to not only measure my students understanding at the moment, but also utilize this program to keep my students engaged in the content. In addition, it provides an engaging platform that students can access from home if quarantined or absent that allows me to make sure they are not falling behind.

Benefits to my students

I have been working with a limited, free version of the program in two of my courses. The students in these classes are more engaged in the content and test scores indicate they have a better understanding as well.

This program allows for full immersion of technology in a 1-to-1 classroom setting, and also provides opportunities for students who are absent to stay involved in the class.
