Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
The St. Joe Community Foundation - $922.00
I want to provide a real-world experience for my students to gain an understanding of energy, circuits, and loads.
Students will explore the world of renewable energy by creating and testing different designs for a wind turbine. They will explore how pitch of the blade can affect the speed at which the blades turn. They will also learn how to set up an experiment and use the scientific method to test our results.
Students learn how engineers transform wind energy into electrical energy by building their own miniature wind turbines and measuring the electrical current they produce. They explore how design and position affect the electrical energy production.
KidWind Blade Design Consumables $165.00 Bulk balsa, chipboard sheets, and dowels for blade making in the classroom. Pack includes 100 balsa sheets, 150 chipboard sheets, and 250 dowels.
