Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
The St. Joe Community Foundation - $450.53
I would like to purchase relevant independent reading books that Springbook recommends to get students to read MORE outside of class; these suggested books are related to what we're teaching in class so they'll complement the curriculum and get students to think about what we're learning even outside of class. I would also like to purchase a class set of a required text for Junior English.
My students have independent reading time three times per week. The students have a difficult time locating interesting books in the media center. This grant will be used to grow my classroom library. The books will be checked in/out through me to ensure the books are available for future students.
These novels are recommended for independent reading from our Springboard textbook.
Students have immediate access to current and relevant novels in my classroom without having to search through the media center. Students are more likely to read novels that are accessible and interesting.
30 copies of The Great Gatsby for a classroom set.
Additional 9 novels for classroom library.
Also a bookshelf for the classroom for storage of new books.
