Goal

To reinforce strong character traits-such as respect, honesty integrity, tolerance, confidence and sportsmanship through fun-filled skill- based games in Physical Education! Students will learn the meaning/definition of character and (6) character traits! Students will be able to incorporate and promote valuable characteristics while having fun in learning new games and activities such as parachute games and various ball handling skills!

What will be done with my students

CHARACTER EDUCATION PARACHUTES!- The sky's the limit when you combine values and parachute play! Students will incorporate 18 keywords and definitions , creating limitless teaching opportunities! Students will be able to participate in various parachute activities while learning about "character"!

CHARACTER EDUCATION BALL PACK!- The ball pack will help incorporate positive messages of understanding, respect, and responsible behavior in all-out playground play! Students will be able to learn about various "character" traits while playing different "ball" activities!

Benefits to my students

So many times- in Physical Education- we focus on fitness and skills....In introducing "Character Education' to our P.E. program-we can improve and promote positive messages in our Physical Education classes as well as the regular classroom! Students will embrace learning about character traits while also participating in fun parachute games! With the Character education ball pack-students will consistently receive positive messages while playing various ball games/activities. Our students would love the new equipment-it would be so beneficial to our kids.....Thank you Walton Education Foundation for everything you do for our children in Walton County!!!!

Budget Narrative

Total Budget Proposal for the Walton Education Foundation Grant- Equipment includes free shipping and handling.-

(4) Character Ed Parachutes 30 ' diameter, 24 handles with Character traits and definitions printed on them.

(1) Character Education Playground Pack- includes 6 soccer balls, 6 playground balls, 6 basketballs, 6 utility balls, and 6 footballs.
