Goal

Students in Aeronautics program to gain exposure to multiple types of drones that perform different functions. Commercial UAS operations have just started delivery operations. Basic operations will begin to diversify as some delivery locations become complex and require complex maneuvers.

What will be done with my students

New drones will be flown by students to demostrate the versality in a growing commercial market. High response indoor drones that can perform complex maneuverability will be in demand in the near future and commercial applications of drone usage expand at a rapid rate.

Benefits to my students

18 Students in the Aeronautics program presently will have an opportunity to operate a highly responsive indoor drone to perform a multitude of complex task such as precision flying, pinpoint landing procedures, safety protocols, inaccessible photography opportunities, hand-eye coordination skills, flight-time budgeting, and ability to compete in high school and college drone competitions (ex. Embry-Riddle Drone Olympics).

Budget Narrative

Goal is to have 2 working drones at all times. Minor maintenance is sometimes required (propeller repair) that may have a drone in repair status and unable to fly. 3rd backup unit is requested.
