Original Grant Overview
Goal
Our goal is to continue to improve student behaviors, attitudes, motivation, and participation. Last school year, we piloted the ‘Super PE Students of the Day’ program for Kindergarten and First Grade. With the positive outcome of the incentive program, we would like to expand this incentive program to all grade levels this school year.
What will be done with my students
Through daily observations and interactions with students, coaches can reward students at anytime during their scheduled class for any positive/leadership skills displayed at PE. This could be anything from entering or exiting the gym safely, displaying good sportsmanship, following rules and procedures, helping others during class, working cooperatively with others…just to name a few.
Benefits to my students
We are requesting the Portable Sound System with microphone to be used on the big field during our regular PE days as well as special events like our Fun Run, Field Day, Jump Rope for Heart and Toe Token week. This provides us with a level of structure and accessibility in large open areas to keep organization and safety a top priority. Also, gives us access to music for the events.
We would like to purchase Toe Tokens for our yearly Wildcat Toe Token-a-thon held every spring. These will be used as motivational incentives to help students preform there best. We want to keep students focused and shining bright during this time of year when discipline issues spike while also helping them stay fit and active in a positive way.
