What will be done with my students

I have conferenced with all students about their beginning of year FAST ELA Assessment score as well as their beginning of year Lexia Core 5 grade level placement test.
Students have set a goal to increase their score on the FAST and increase their Lexia score to a fourth grade level.
When students pass a Lexia lesson, they will be given Legos and time to build and create with Legos as a reinforcement for increasing their reading comprehension scores on Lexia. Students will have opportunities to earn and collect Legos each day. They will have time to work with the Legos they collect or with kits each week. My students will begin keeping data on their reading comprehension scores.

Benefits to my students

I will use this engaging approach which combines hands-on building with positive reinforcement, allowing students to enhance their reading comprehension while fostering behaviors like focus, perseverance, and a growth mindset. By rewarding increased reading comprehension scores with Legos, as well as incentivizing classroom participation and support for peers, I will create a motivating environment. Additionally, having students track their reading comprehension, empowers them to take ownership of their learning, making the experience both fun and educational.

Budget Narrative

The LEGO bricks would be used to reinforce students that increased their reading comprehension scores.
