What will be done with my students

Camera equipment in a yearbook class is not only essential for the practical work of creating the yearbook, but also for teaching valuable skills in photography, technology, and visual storytelling. These skills are increasingly important in a world driven by visual media and digital communication.

Timeline:

Phase 1: Preparation & Setup
1. Inventory & Setup: Unbox the camera equipment to ensure all parts have arrived. Set up a storage and maintenance plan.
2. Student Training: Train all students on using the camera operations and equipment care.

Phase 2: Hands-On Photography Skills & Development
1. Photography Workshops: Focus on the basics of digital photography and provide practice sessions.
2. Field Photography: Students will attend school events to take photos to continue building the library of images for the yearbook.

Phase 3: Ongoing Maintenance & Yearbook Production
1. Equipment Maintenance: Continue regular equipment care with student teams responsible for cleaning and storing the equipment properly after each use.
2. Continue capturing images throughout the year to add to the library of images for the yearbook.

Benefits to my students

By providing new camera equipment, we can ensure that our students have the tools they need to succeed in this creative and technical endeavor. It will also allow us to maintain the quality of instruction and provide students with a positive learning experience they may not otherwise have.
