Impact to My Classroom

This year, I received a grant for 12 iPads. I am also designated as the "IDI teacher", which allots me even more iPads to use. By receiving this particular grant to purchase individual styluses and earbuds for each of my students to use, helps to benefit my class. The earbuds prevents distractable noise from getting to the students on the iPads, as well as prevents distractable noise from being heard by the students not on the iPads. The styluses also save the screens of the iPads from too much wear by being overused. These earbuds and styluses are used daily.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

I am requesting individual earbuds for student use for iPads, as well as a set of styluses for use with the iPad. My goal for the students is to be able to focus with more intent on the task at hand for the use of the ipad, as well as to learn to responsibly care for the iPad tools.  

 

What will be done with my students

I have received 11 iPads from a grant. This means that there will be a lot of technology usage in my classroom. Some of the usage of the iPads will involve sound, such as creating videos, watching videos, and using academic apps. I am requesting a set of earbuds for each student to be able to use when they are using an iPad. I am also requesting a set of styluses for students to use on the touchscreen of the iPads as well.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will benefit from the use of earbuds because they will be able to focus more on the task they are using the iPads for, rather than what is occurring around them. The classroom as a whole will benefit when students are using the earbuds, as there will not be sound distraction interrupting the other students from their work they are involved in. Students will be responsible for keeping their set of earbuds secure in their own storage bag. Also, since all of the students in the class will be using the iPads, the screens will be heavily accessed. Styluses will help to avoid fingerprints and smudges, and will help to keep the screen in a better condition.  

 

Budget Narrative

The requested funds is to purchase a pack of 30 earbuds and 20 styluses for a total of $51.98. There will not be a cost for shipping as I will use my Amazon Prime account.
