Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 36

Children are able to gather around a centerpiece of provocations placed on the Messy Tray.  In the past it has been for water exploration, brushing teeth patterns with toothpaste during Dental Health Week, or experiencing the scents of fall and pine. The children also used shaving cream on the tray to write their letters!

 

Children learned how to cooperate with others, take turns, using language skills to communicate their findings and desires.

 

Our Messy Table is used daily and we all love it!

Goal(s)

My goal is to provide a large additional space for children to be as creative, messy, and wonder-driven as they can be!

This will be shared with an additional class of children! 

 

Project Description

Students will be invited to "mess about" and be creative with various loose parts, paint, plants, etc. that the tray will contain.  

 

Expected Outcomes

Creativity and imagination will be awakened as children are exposed to provocations and free choice creative play. Providing a large surface allows for more children to join in the play in which language and cooperation will flourish.
