The primary goal of this grant was to increase student engagement and improve academic performance in my 11th grade U.S. History class through the use of a premium online subscription to Quizizz. I am pleased to report that the grant has successfully met its intended objectives.

Since implementing the Quizizz platform, students have demonstrated noticeably higher levels of engagement and participation during lessons. The interactive features of Quizizz—such as live quizzes, gamified review sessions, and individualized practice assignments—have transformed routine content review into a dynamic and motivating learning experience. Students frequently request Quizizz activities and have shown increased enthusiasm for mastering historical content.

Students particularly appreciated the immediate feedback provided after answering each question, which helped them better understand the material in real time. Many also shared that they loved the option for redemption questions on graded assignments, which gave them the opportunity to reflect, correct their mistakes, and improve their scores. This feature contributed to a more growth-oriented and less punitive learning environment.

Academically, the use of Quizizz has positively impacted student achievement. Formative assessment data indicate improved understanding of key concepts aligned with Florida's 11th grade U.S. History standards. The real-time data and insights enabled more targeted instruction and timely intervention, which contributed to higher quiz and test scores throughout the year. Preliminary results from End-of-Course (EOC) exam practice assessments also show a measurable improvement compared to previous years.

In addition to academic gains, the platform supported differentiated instruction by allowing students to work at their own pace and revisit content as needed. This flexibility proved especially beneficial for students who required additional support or sought enrichment opportunities.

Overall, the premium Quizizz subscription has been a highly effective instructional tool. It has enhanced student engagement, fostered a deeper understanding of historical content, and helped prepare students for success on the EOC assessment. I am grateful for the funding that made this initiative possible and look forward to continuing its use in future academic years.
